Today, my mother turns 80 years old. Exactly 39 years ago, she received a birthday present she would never forget; she gave birth to me and my twin brother Jimmy. The doctor told her that she was having a large baby girl. My my where they surprised when she came home with twin boys.
This week I was fortunate to have a client send me down to Florida to conduct some interviews about ice cream. Because of this, I was able to spend some time with my mother and father. It was a surprise to my mom who had no idea I was coming down. Tonight we gave her another shock when my sister was sitting at the bar at the restaurant where we had dinner.
In attendance were two long time couples who have been friends with my parents since the early 70s. I must admit I never tire of hearing the same stories over and over again told by true friends who have stayed in touch through thick and through thin. I hope that Nicole and I can pass such memories along to our children 40 years from now.
There is nothing I could have purchased for my mother that she doesn’t already have. Instead, I put together this video in her honor. Please take a look and let me know what you think.
Mike,
Just saw it finally. Beautiful video! Love it! Happy birthday to your mom and to you, who, I now know, share a birthday with my mom so I can’t forget it. Thanks for sharing this and making us all look lame for not doing this for our moms! LOL
